Whatever

"Whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever."
That's a song I sing to myself when things aren't perfect.
I sing it in a jazzy, hip-hop style.
Then I think of something totally random & silly, so I'll smile.

It makes things good & better....sort of..... for a little while.
What do you do to make things "better"?
Or do you not care & just say to yourself, "Whatever."?

Mom's Birthday

Today's my Mom's birthday.
She sort of "created" me
So, she's kind of like the first "artist" I ever met.
It was a nice, creative thing she did, having me.

She used to sew all of our clothes
and she used to make homemade, gourmet meals.
She would decoupage and paint ceramics.
She did a lot of cool things and it was good.

I remember sitting with her in the grass.
Mom made us flower necklaces out of clover.
She had four of us girls, so that was really creative.
Having four kids is a big deal.

Happy birthday Mom.
Thanks for being creative way back when.
You really knew how to be open and free.
I appreciate those things.

I'm glad you were born and I love you.
Happy Birthday.

Artist on Duty

This is how it goes, I wake up some mornings and I'm dreaming in poem. The words in my mind today were, "rid the score, prerequisite door". Some of you may think "Whaaaaat?" but I've interpreted it to mean, "you must let go of the past in order to embrace the future". I love my dreams...they are where my ideas come from. This is definitely going to be a line in my next upcoming book of poetry.

Artist beginning to BLOG

I don't know why I'm blogging except for the fact that "it's the thing to do" these days.
I want you to know a little more about me so that I can bless your life. I'm an artist.
I create. I mostly keep to myself but I share too. I love being imaginative. I do picture framing as a profession. It pays for my habits of being an artist. I also write. Sometimes I totally stop what I'm doing just to hurry and record my thoughts before they vanish. There's so many of them. I sing my songs that I make up while I build the frames and paint the pictures and sculpt the pieces from recycled tidbits. My name is Kimbo.
I live in a little town not too far from Atlanta. I love to travel and see new things. I am constantly amazed with other people's creativity. I love to inspire others with mine. Let's see what we can create together.
